Waitress
I've just been given a part in a play..(the original play fell through..so it's back to the beginning again)...and i'm playing a waitress.
I've never been a waitress so I wondered if there is anyone on the forum who could give me a bit of advice...funny stories..that I can work with to
get into character..
The 'girl' i'm playing is portrayed a bit of a 'couldn't care less', 'chav', type of person - always chewing gum...uses words like
'mingin!'.
The people at the theatre group have thought the character would be based on Twinkie out of Dinnerladies (UK sitcom) or someone out of little britain
(i don't watch it).
They also told me a story of a waitress who was carrying her cloth/teatowel under her arm (smelly) and then wiped the plates with it....
So any thoughts, stories which could be useful would be gratefully received!!

Hey...the play has come and gone...it was a good three nights. All who attended it enjoyed the night - three seperate plays - all based on 'people
of a certain age'. Didn't think it would work...but how little do I know...i have so much to learn. Apparently I played a good part and had good
reports back...so i'm now just waiting for the next one to see if this was a fluke or if I can actually make a good job of it.
Just thought you might like to know!!
